Join our vibrant team in Atlanta, Georgia, as a Shipping & Receiving Associate. This role is pivotal in managing the flow of goods into and out of our facility, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety in all shipping and receiving operations. You will be a key contributor to our logistics infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damage.
- Process outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy of orders, proper packaging, and labeling.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments using appropriate systems.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Organize and maintain the receiving and shipping areas, ensuring they are clean and clutter-free.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory management as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners regarding shipments.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and efficiency within the logistics department.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners and basic computer applications.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends as needed.
