We are seeking a dedicated and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. As a Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the initial stage of our warehouse operations, ensuring all incoming goods are accurately documented, inspected, and prepared for distribution. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and the efficiency of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect shipments for any damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Organize and stage received goods for further processing (e.g., put-away, quality control).
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with WMS is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform tasks involving moderate to heavy Lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all company policies.
