We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our logistics operations in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, ensuring a smooth flow of inventory. You will operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, requiring a strong focus on safety and proficiency. Your attention to detail will ensure that materials are handled correctly, preventing damage and maintaining inventory accuracy. This position is physically demanding and involves significant lifting and physical exertion. Adherence to all company safety policies and mandatory PPE usage is paramount. You will work as part of a dynamic team, contributing to the overall efficiency of our distribution center. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus. Your role is essential in supporting our logistics network and ensuring timely order fulfillment. You will be responsible for organizing stock, managing the put-away process, and assisting with loading and unloading trucks. Strong communication and teamwork skills are vital for success. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Pick and stage materials for outgoing shipments.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator preferred.
- Valid forklift certification is a strong asset.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
- Familiarity with logistics and material flow.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Requirements:
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vest.
- Must be able to perform frequent lifting, bending, and operating machinery.
- Commitment to safety and operational excellence.
