We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and optimize inventory levels at our Fort Worth, Texas distribution center. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of our stock data, supporting efficient logistics, and minimizing operational costs. You will be responsible for conducting thorough cycle counts, investigating variances between physical stock and system records, and implementing solutions to maintain high inventory accuracy. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying and resolving issues related to stock rotation, put-away, and picking. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control methodologies. You will collaborate with various teams, including operations, receiving, and shipping, to ensure seamless inventory flow. A commitment to safety is non-negotiable; you must adhere to all company safety policies and PPE guidelines. The ability to interpret data, generate reports, and recommend improvements to inventory processes is key. You will be expected to contribute to a culture of accuracy and efficiency within our logistics operations. Occasional lifting of inventory items may be required. This role offers a significant opportunity to influence operational performance and contribute to the success of a leading logistics provider. Responsibilities:
- Conduct systematic cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between system records and physical inventory.
- Identify root causes of inventory inaccuracies and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain precise inventory data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborate with operations, receiving, and shipping teams to resolve inventory issues.
- Monitor stock aging and implement appropriate stock rotation procedures.
- Optimize storage locations and layout to improve efficiency.
- Develop and refine inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and mandatory PPE usage.
- Prepare and present detailed inventory reports to management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics.
- Proficiency in WMS software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical inventory checks, including occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety standards and practices.
