We are actively recruiting for a dedicated Material Handler to join our team at the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania warehouse. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. This includes operating various types of material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, organizing storage areas, and assisting with order fulfillment. Your role is vital to the smooth operation of our logistics network. We emphasize a strong Safety culture, requiring adherence to all Safety protocols and the mandatory use of appropriate PPE. This position offers a great opportunity to work in a dynamic logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Organize and stack materials in warehouse storage locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with order picking and packing processes as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of material handling equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to housekeeping standards.
- Comply with all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear all required PPE consistently and correctly.
- Participate in inventory counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a significant asset.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent and heavy Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Commitment to maintaining a Safe work environment and the proper use of PPE.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
