We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics operations in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. This includes conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, performing stock adjustments, and ensuring that our warehouse management system accurately reflects physical stock levels. Your analytical skills and methodical approach will be vital in optimizing inventory flow and minimizing losses. This position is crucial for efficient logistics planning and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between the system and physical counts.
- Conduct root cause analysis for inventory errors and implement corrective actions.
- Manage stock adjustments, including transfers, receipts, and shipments.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of warehouse storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with all inventory control policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to improve inventory accuracy.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- May require lifting of items up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or logistics.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of supply chain and logistics principles.
- Physical ability to move around the warehouse and perform counting tasks.
- Familiarity with safety procedures.
