Location: Hurlburt Field, Florida

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $40-$42 per hour

Position Overview

SysCom, Inc. is seeking a Lead Elevator Technician to oversee elevator maintenance operations under a federal contract supporting Hurlburt Field, FL.

The Lead Elevator Technician will serve as the primary point of contact for the Government and will be responsible for supervising maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, and maintaining safe and reliable operation of vertical transportation equipment across the installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site manager and government point of contact for elevator maintenance services.
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel performing inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with ASME A17.1, OSHA, and federal safety regulations.
• Develop and implement a Maintenance Control Program (MCP) for all vertical transportation equipment.
• Ensure elevators meet operational availability and performance standards.
• Review and approve maintenance reports and inspection documentation.
• Coordinate scheduling of routine maintenance, repairs, and required inspections.
• Monitor response times for routine and emergency service calls.
• Conduct quality control inspections and ensure contract compliance.
• Provide oversight of required Emergency Elevator Rescue Training for fire department personnel.
• Maintain communication with government representatives including the Contracting Officer and Authorized Government Representative (AGR).

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years of elevator maintenance experience.
• Previous experience supervising maintenance technicians.
• State Elevator Mechanic License required.
• Strong knowledge of elevator safety codes and inspection requirements.
• Experience managing maintenance programs for multiple elevators or facilities.
• Ability to obtain base access clearance for a federal installation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification.
• Experience managing government or military service contracts.
• Experience with preventive maintenance planning and equipment lifecycle management.

Leadership Skills

• Strong organizational and scheduling abilities
• Excellent communication with technical staff and government clients
• Ability to manage emergency service response and operational priorities
