Role: Cyber Security Project Manager Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite) Duration: 6+ Months
Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned
Cyber Security Project Manager
to lead enterprise-level security initiatives across network security operations, detection engineering, and incident response. This senior leadership role will be responsible for strengthening and maturing the organization's security posture while overseeing analysts, engineers, and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex security programs in global environments spanning on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage enterprise security projects across network security, SOC operations, and cloud security domains. Drive detection engineering and threat hunting initiatives to enhance proactive security capabilities. Oversee incident response programs, ensuring rapid containment, remediation, and root cause analysis. Develop and implement security governance frameworks, policies, and standards aligned with industry best practices. Manage risk assessments, vulnerability management, and mitigation strategies. Collaborate with IT, DevOps, Infrastructure, and executive leadership teams to align security strategy with business objectives. Supervise and mentor security analysts, engineers, and cross-functional teams. Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC 2, etc.). Report security posture, metrics, and risk exposure to executive leadership. Lead security program roadmap planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in Cyber Security, with significant leadership or project management responsibilities. Strong expertise in: Incident Response & Digital Forensics Threat Hunting & Detection Engineering Security Operations (SOC) Network & Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, GCP environments preferred) Risk Management & Security Governance Experience managing enterprise security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, and Cloud Security Platforms. Proven track record of leading large-scale security transformation initiatives. Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls). Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
