The role is to ensure compliance with all relevant EHS legislation and assist in developing systems and procedures that optimises our client\'s safety, health and environmental performance. Ensure environmental, health & safety (EHS) global management standards are met and all EHS procedures are adhered to. Create EHS awareness in the plant and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain ETMS TO DO LIST.
- Conduct business in a manner that will protect human health, safety and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws, as well at the clients global and technical standards.
- Assist in the maintenance of an effective EHSMS system.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental legislation, Site Procedures and Standards by ensuring all required EHS documentation is up to date and readily available.
- Educate and engage employees in efforts to optimise EHS performance.
- Ensure EHS audits are conducted and all issues effectively closed out.
- Promote continuous improvement in all environmental and safety matters.
- Ensure implementation of the waste management strategy, continually striving to reduce the sites impact on the environment.
- Ensure all EHS incidents are investigated to establish causation and resolution.
- Assist in workstation assessment programme.
- Promote, implement and participate in safety committees
- Co-ordinate inspections by regulatory bodies as required.
- Ensure permit completion in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Manage and co-ordinate vendors and contractors where there is an EHS impact, and in accordance with local legislation.
- Develop and deliver EHS Training Courses.
- Ensure compliance to monthly ETMS requirements.
- Assess and determine the introduction of new equipment, hazards, processes and chemicals.
- Ensure compliance to ETMS Requirements.
- Works independently or Individual Contributor
Education/ Experience Requirements
Third level qualification in an Environmental Science/ Occupational, safety and health or related discipline is a necessary requirement for this position, as ability to understand scientific process and implement EHS systems is a fundamental prerequisite in this role. The following experience provides a necessary foundation for this Job function: At least 1 year\'s EHS experience. This will provide the foundation for the disciplines, techniques, trouble shooting skills and basic scientific knowledge required for the position Knowledge and experience working in a GMP regulated facility. xcfaprz
