Back End Software Developer

MBRYONICS is at the forefront of free space optical communications. Our product portfolio covers a wide range of emerging technologies from photonic integrated circuits to advanced optical systems and embedded software solutions. Our optical communications systems are integrated and deployed in satellite communications systems. The work is exciting and challenging and is at the forefront of the technology domains. As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a suitably motivated Back End Software Developer to join our group.

• 
  
• Design, implement, and maintain the core backend logic and microservice architectures that drive complex network applications.
  
• Develop and deploy scalable microservices optimized for both local server and cloud‑scale environments.
  
• Build applications that implement network management protocols to ensure the secure and robust control of remote network devices.
  
• Create and manage scalable database services using both relational (SQL) and non‑relational (NoSQL) architectures.
  
• Architect and integrate essential backend components, including API gateways, authentication/authorization protocols, and logging services.
  
• Work as a key member of the applications development team to deliver integrated solutions at the forefront of optical communications.
  

• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
  
• Demonstrated experience developing web‑based applications configured in microservice architectures.
  
• Demonstrated experience implementing secure systems, including authentication services, authorisation services, certificate and key management, encryption of data in transit and at rest, and configuration of services to guard against attack, including secure coding practices, DDoS protection, and access control.
  
• Demonstrated experience with application development using Python frameworks and low level languages (C/C++).
  
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
  
• Demonstrated experience working in a Linux environment.

• Demonstrated experience on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or internally‑hosted equivalent.
  
• Demonstrated experience with Django, Django Rest Framework, or related Python framework.
  
• Experience with network management protocols such as SNMP and Netconf, or controlling telecommunications equipment.
  
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  
• Familiarity with data analytics and/or machine learning.
