What You’ll Do

The Labour Relations Specialist is a key partner in delivering comprehensive HR support and fostering a positive, productive workplace. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to make a meaningful impact across a wide range of HR functions while serving as a trusted advisor to both leadership and employees.

In this role, you will lead and support core HR activities, including talent acquisition and onboarding, labor relations and management, HR administration and compliance, and engagement and development initiatives. Acting as a proactive, solutions-focused resource, you’ll balance strategic priorities with hands-on execution—ensuring compliance, strengthening collaboration, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Here’s what you can expect in your role:


Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Manage the internal hourly union job posting process, including tracking, and communication through the award/decline letters and related documentation
  • Lead external hourly union recruitment efforts in partnership with department supervisor.
  • Conduct supervisor orientation
  • Manage the Temporary Part-Time (TPT) process by overseeing recruitment, scheduling, and maintenance of the candidate pool
  • Conduct orientation for specified salaried team members


Labour Relations & Compliance

  • Lead internal investigations for all hourly union concerns, ensuring fairness and compliance
  • Serve as the primary contact for all Step 2 grievance meetings, fostering constructive dialog and resolution
  • Review and approve Coaching and Progressive Discipline Documentation for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards
  • Provide guidance and coaching to supervisors on performance management, including documentation and disciplinary actions, to support leadership effectiveness
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with union representatives while ensuring adherence to the Collective Agreement


Health & Safety & Disability Management

  • Consult with Health & Safety teams and attend committee meeting
  • Engage in collaborative efforts to promote and reinforce Health & Safety goals and strategies
  • Support non-occupational accommodation requests while ensuring alignment with company policies and a positive employee experience
  • Manage all leaves of absence (LOA) for hourly union members, ensuring smooth processes and clear communication


Culture & Engagement

  • Actively participate in monthly Supervisor Connect meetings and capture key discussion points to support follow-up and action
  • Conduct Exit Interviews for hourly union employees, providing insights to enhance retention in the workplace culture
  • Champion employee engagement by supporting participation in incentive programs and initiatives that recognize and reward contribution


HR Administration & Compliance

  • Prepare termination letters for hourly union members
  • Maintain and monitor attendance programs to support workforce reliability and engagement
  • Generate monthly absenteeism Key Performance Indicator reports to track trends and drive improvement
  • Monitor for accuracy in tracking probationary periods (75-day evaluations) and wage progression for union employees to ensure compliance
  • Review and deliver monthly union reports with precision and consistency
  • Compile monthly communication content for accuracy and compliance, supporting clear and effective messaging
  • Maintain Human Resources templates control log and uphold compliance with GMP and Health & Safety standards, reinforcing a safe and compliant workplace



What You Bring

Your experience and perspective might include:


  • Education: Successful completion of post-secondary education through an accredited institution, with focus in Human Resources required
  • Experience: A Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist experience or progressive human resources experience is required, ideally within a manufacturing and unionized environment
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor relations, and employment legislation
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); bilingualism is considered an asset

Jamieson Wellness Inc. offers a competitive total rewards package that goes beyond base pay, including eligibility for our Short-Term Incentive Program and a variety of benefits to support your well-being and professional growth.

For this role, the posting range is $61,425-$105,300, which reflects the full salary range of the position. The actual salary offered will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, level of education, and other professional qualifications aligned with the requirements and complexity of this position.
