What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Category Manager the Specialist role is critical to the growth of JWEL. The Category Specialist role is an integrated approach to improving our sourcing and product launch capabilities that complement JWEL’s commitment to improving service levels with our customers. This role will be accountable for the development, and implementation of strategic procurement initiatives for JWEL. Conduct analytical analysis to help identify productivity opportunities and develop business case assessments that builds a quantitative, fact-base to make decisions trading off brand/consumer/customer/shopper impact with complexity and direct & indirect costs. Identifies competitive products for comparison purposes and works with Commercial & Technical communities to develop fact-base to benchmark JWL products vs. competition (volume, share, economic, technical specifications, etc.). Ideal candidate is well versed with nutraceutical ingredients, supplier development and program management. The Candidate must be comfortable working in a cross-functional team culture and demonstrate the ability for gain key stake holder alignment to execute complex initiatives o. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. Candidate must be quantitatively oriented, comfortable in managing and executing complex analysis to understand trade-offs and implications to support fact-based recommendations. Candidate must also be comfortable working in an environment that is changing and transitioning from a medium sized procurement organization to one of far greater sophistication and breadth.
Here’s what you can expect in your role:
- Ensuring continuity of supply for raw materials
- Develop and align comprehensive category strategies with the Category Manager
- Execute strategic strategies
- Support the category manager and/or lead supplier negotiations and implement various supply agreements that support the business objectives
- Resolving quality, pricing and delivery issues and maintaining relationships with suppliers
- Monitoring, planning, and negotiating supplier price agreements
- Recommending and implementing purchasing strategies and inventory management techniques to reduce inventory while maintaining exceptional customer service
- Evaluating and recommending cost improvement ideas through product, supplier, and design changes
- Performing detailed cost analysis and cost reduction activities
- Supporting and executing all Procurement Department and corporate initiatives
- Identify sources of supply for critical materials
- Identify and manage critical risks and issues with product time launches.
- Facilitate working sessions to gather input from key stakeholders and to problem-solve critical issues efficiently and effectively.
- Partner with cross-functional team members (e.g., S&T, Legal, Finance, Mfg., Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure project plans and critical milestones are on track; facilitate sessions to address and solve critical issues, as needed.
- Create and update project status reports with agreement of leadership Lead and input of project team, as needed. Jointly present status and critical risks at review meetings.
- Lead tasks related to as data analysis, change management and communication for specific tasks and projects, as needed.
- Prepare and present summary and detailed information related to specific tasks and projects, as needed, for internal team and external constituents.
- Consult with and influence management at various levels in and across a wide variety of functions on significant matters relating to Company investments, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives

Your experience and perspective might include:
- Project management and/or technical experience in a similar business setting
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience including strong experience in strategy and business development
- Competency and skill achieving results through matrix organizational structures and cross-functional team
- Proven experience and successful leadership of cross-functional project-based initiatives
- Ability to provide oversight and management to clearly synthesize multiple complex initiatives to prioritize focus on critical issues and activities
- Very strong quantitative skills and proven ability to dissect and analyze problems
- Analytical ability and comfortable working hands on with significant volumes of data
- Technical ability to access data, organize outputs, and develop models with conclusive outputs, including expertise in MS Excel, Power point and databases
- Strong communication skills – verbal & written presentation development
- Influencing others through relationship development, clarity of communication, etc. for the purpose of accomplishing work objectives
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and change/project management concepts; able to identify value-added elements and execute

Jamieson Wellness Inc. offers a competitive total rewards package that goes beyond base pay, including eligibility for our Short-Term Incentive Program and a variety of benefits to support your well-being and professional growth.
For this role, the posting range is $54,200-$81,300 which reflects the full salary range of the position. The actual salary offered will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, level of education, and other professional qualifications aligned with the requirements and complexity of this position.
