Java Software Engineer – Front Office Trading Systems (Hybrid – Montreal)

Location: Montreal, QC – Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain core Java components for front-office trading systems.
• Collaborate with traders, sales, and quantitative teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Implement high-throughput, low-latency features for order capture, routing, and execution workflows.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Participate in production releases, testing, and application enhancements.
• Contribute to code reviews, peer programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Work with international, multicultural teams to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong Java experience (Java 8/11+).
• Multithreading, concurrency, and low-latency programming.
• Messaging systems (Kafka, JMS, Solace, etc.).
• Databases (SQL, Oracle; NoSQL is a plus).
• Spring / Spring Boot frameworks.
• Unit testing (JUnit, Mockito).
• Agile/Scrum experience; CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle).
• DevOps mindset; containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent English communication (French is a plus).
• Ability to manage tasks and collaborate under pressure in a multicultural environment.
