Logistics Manager – 12 MONTH CONTRACT

Target Contract Start Date: Monday, March 2, 2026

Hiring Min Rate: $85,000 CAD

Hiring Max Rate: $100,000 CAD

Hybrid (after training completed) 3 days in office


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee transportation operations to ensure the on‑time delivery of packaged goods from production facilities to both internal and external customers.
  • Lead carrier RFQs and negotiate freight rates, tariffs, and contractual terms.
  • Manage and develop a team of six Coordinators, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Maintain and enforce routing guide compliance across all Recochem shipping locations.
  • Onboard common carriers and brokers to ensure OS&D compliance and timely invoicing.
  • Negotiate freight rates with customers who arrange their own freight pickup.
  • Maintain all required carrier documentation, including contracts, insurance certificates, addendums, tariffs, and related records.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key transportation KPIs, such as cost per liter, load tracking, on‑time delivery (OTD), payload efficiency, and on‑time pickup performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely period‑end reporting, including accruals.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and shipping teams to maintain dock schedules and reduce accessorial charges, yard congestion, and dock bottlenecks.
  • Manage the customs clearance process with the company’s customs broker, ensuring timely clearance and leveraging duty exemptions where applicable.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of logistics and transportation management experience.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), preferably Oracle Transportation Management (OTM).
  • Post‑secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in management, transportation, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities, including the capability to prioritize tasks and prepare statistical reports and performance analyses.
  • Ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of transportation laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in time‑sensitive environments.
  • Hazardous materials and CTPAT training (formal certification is an asset but not required).
