We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team in Portland, Oregon. This role is essential for maintaining the efficient flow of goods within our logistics network. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to move, sort, and store inventory. Your tasks will include loading and unloading shipments, transferring materials between different areas of the warehouse, and ensuring accurate inventory counts. Safety is paramount in this position; you must strictly adhere to all safety protocols and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). A strong understanding of warehouse safety and best practices in material handling is essential. This job requires physical agility, as there will be frequent lifting and the need to be on your feet for extended periods. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve warehouse inventory.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Contribute to a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Support logistics operations by ensuring timely movement of goods.
- Perform other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is highly desirable.
- Must be able to handle lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and logistics procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
