We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Material Handler to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. This role is fundamental to our warehouse operations, ensuring that materials are moved, organized, and prepared for distribution. You will be involved in various tasks, including receiving, stocking, order picking, and preparing shipments. A strong commitment to safety and efficiency is paramount. This position is a key component of our logistics network, supporting timely and accurate order fulfillment. The ability to handle physical demands, including regular lifting , is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Stock materials in designated warehouse locations using appropriate equipment.
- Pick and pack orders accurately according to customer specifications.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with inventory management.
- Ensure all materials are handled and stored properly to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all company safety protocols.
- Wear required PPE , such as safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed shoes, at all times.
- Assist with loading outgoing shipments onto trucks.
- Follow all established procedures for material handling and workplace organization, contributing to efficient logistics .
- Perform tasks that may require significant physical exertion and frequent lifting of items.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and packing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to following safety guidelines and wearing appropriate PPE .
- Understanding of basic logistics principles is a plus.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
