We are seeking a reliable Receiving Clerk to join our bustling warehouse in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is critical for managing the inflow of goods, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining proper inventory records. You will be responsible for unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately recording received items into our system. A strong understanding of logistics and a commitment to detail are essential. We are looking for individuals who are organized, efficient, and dedicated to upholding our high standards of operation. This position is key to ensuring our inventory is accurate and readily available. Proper documentation and communication are vital. Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE, is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks.
- Verify received goods against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect shipments for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system.
- Tag and label incoming inventory appropriately.
- Organize and stock received goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth logistics flow.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Understanding of logistics and inventory control principles.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and use of PPE.
