Are you a skilled and certified Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Boston, Massachusetts? We are hiring for a key role within our busy distribution center, where your expertise will be vital to our logistics operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials and products throughout the warehouse. This position requires precision, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric, propane) to move, stack, load, and unload materials and products.
- Safely transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse, ensuring no damage occurs.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Follow all warehouse Safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining warehouse inventory, ensuring accurate placement and rotation.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately, verifying shipment contents against documentation.
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory reconciliation processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to good housekeeping practices.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Adhere to all guidelines related to Lifting and material handling.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated experience.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting and maneuvering of heavy items.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must wear required PPE at all times when operating equipment or in designated areas.
