We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Austin, Texas. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely preparation of outgoing shipments. You will coordinate with various departments, prepare shipping documentation, and ensure all packages meet carrier requirements. This position demands strong organizational skills and a commitment to efficient logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy in contents and quantity.
- Coordinate with carriers for package pickup and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and secured.
- Maintain shipping logs and update shipment tracking information.
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a related logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common office applications.
- Ability to handle moderate lifting, up to 25 lbs, when needed.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be aware of and adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements in the shipping area.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and logistics best practices.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
