Job Description Summary
Our Southeast team works to increase housing supply and broaden opportunities for socially and economically disadvantaged communities. To measure the success and impact of this work, the collection and analysis of key data is vital.
We are seeking a Program Data Collection and Systems Intern to work directly with members of our Southeast team on the optimization of our current data management system. Over the internship period, the intern will review, research, and consolidate Southeast Market data across programs and cohorts. This includes understanding current required and desired data, identifying source systems and staff needs, surveying partners and program participants, and creating a centralized data collection repository. The internship will culminate in a new consolidated Data Matrix, gap analysis, and a survey instrument with results summary to support funder reporting, program evaluation, impact analysis and long-term partner engagement.
The internship is expected to start on June 1, 2026, and end by August 21, 2026. The intern will work approximately 35–40 hours per week, with at least two days in person at the Atlanta office.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Research & Review of Current Data Requirements
- Review and document current Southeast Market data requirements, including:
Funder reporting obligations
Internal program metrics and evaluation needs
Staff identified desired data fields and new data needs
- Analyze existing data sources (spreadsheets, trackers, applications, intake forms, reports, notes, etc.)
- Identify inconsistencies, duplications, gaps, and opportunities for streamlined data collection.
2. Engagement With Staff & Stakeholders
- Interview with internal staff to confirm desired data fields, preferred formats, and current limitations.
- Document source systems, responsible parties, update cycles, and data gaps.
3. Partner, Applicant & Cohort Participant Surveying
- Conduct outreach via short interviews, email requests, and/or surveys to partners, grant applicants, and cohort participants.
- Gather missing data; verify previously submitted information; clarify project status and organizational capacity.
4. Data Collection Depository & Consolidated Data Matrix
- Design and build a centralized spreadsheet based data repository that consolidates:
Required data (funder, compliance, and programmatic)
Desired data (staff inputs, TA needs, relevant qualitative insights)
- Translate findings into a new consolidated Data Matrix capturing both quantitative and qualitative fields.
5. Data Dictionary Development
- Create a detailed Data Dictionary defining:
Each data field
Its purpose
Source
Format standards
Update frequency
Responsible party
6. Gap Analysis
- Analyze missing information across partners, cohorts, and program materials.
- Prepare recommendations for:
Additional data collection
Updated intake or application forms
Improved ongoing tracking practices.
7. Survey Development & Summary
- Develop a short, structured survey instrument to collect missing or updated information.
- Align survey questions with funder metrics, evaluation frameworks, and staff needs.
- Produce a summarized analysis of survey results.
8. Internal Coordination
- Participate in weekly check-ins with staff mentors.
- Join relevant team meetings and partner calls.
- Maintain organized and updated SharePoint folders for all deliverables.

Qualifications:
1–2 years of experience in data review, data management, data entry, or analytical support within academic, nonprofit, government, or program-based settings.
Experience working with data systems, spreadsheets, or database tools (e.g., Excel, Smartsheet, Salesforce, or similar).
Knowledge of basic data analysis methods, including identifying inconsistencies, gaps, and trends across datasets.
Experience conducting qualitative or quantitative data collection (e.g., surveys, interviews, intake forms, program reporting).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple data sources and maintain accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas, data validation).
Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder outreach and documentation.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive partner or participant information.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., public policy, nonprofit management, data science, business, urban studies, public health, or social sciences) or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate level coursework or active enrollment in a master’s program (public administration, public policy, data analytics, social sciences, urban planning, business, public health, or related) preferred.
Experience visually representing data and creating dashboards using PowerBI, Tableau or Salesforce
Experience analyzing or managing program, grant, or funder required data.
Familiarity with survey design tools (Qualtrics, Microsoft Forms, SurveyMonkey, etc.).
Experience working with community development, philanthropy, housing, or nonprofit partners a plus.
Ability to create or refine data dictionaries, intake tools, or standardized data protocols.
Experience synthesizing data into memos, summaries, or presentations for leadership.
Total Rewards at Enterprise:
You will be working with a group of talented professionals who are motivated by serving the community and addressing the need for affordable housing.
The base pay for this role is $20 to $24 for undergraduate students and $24 to $28 for graduate students, depending on level of skills and experience.
The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance.
