As the AI & Automation Technical Lead you will be the primary technical owner and builder of AI- and automation-powered solutions across the company, reporting directly to the CIO of a mid-sized IT value-added reseller. You will partner closely with leaders and department heads to identify high-impact opportunities, define requirements, and deliver solutions that reduce friction, improve quality, and accelerate operations across functions. In addition, you will play a key role in supporting *merger and acquisition (M&A) initiatives*, helping evaluate and integrate acquired companies’ technical environments by assessing systems, identifying opportunities for consolidation and automation, and designing scalable integration strategies that align with client’s core platforms and operational model.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Provide hands-on operational support for defined Services Operations initiatives, ensuring tasks, documentation, and timelines remain accurate and up to date.
* Maintain and support internal systems including *Salesforce-based ticketing*, *Jira*, and related workflows.
* Assist with requirements gathering for system and process improvements by documenting business needs, pain points, and functional requirements.
* Configure, update, and optimize workflows, fields, automations, and reports in support of operational needs.
* Support Jira project and issue management, including backlog organization, workflow updates, reporting, and cross-team coordination.
* *Build and maintain lightweight automation flows (Zapier or similar tools) to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.*
* Track initiative progress, flag risks or blockers, and support corrective actions to keep work on schedule.
* Organize, maintain, and update operational documentation, process guides, and reference materials.
* Collect and synthesize user feedback and system performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
* Serve as a first point of contact for internal users needing help with ticketing systems, workflows, or process questions.
* Assist with internal reporting related to operational efficiency, adoption, and initiative status.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tools and processes align with real-world usage.
* Perform additional operational support tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and reliability.
*Desired Skills & Experience*
* 2–4 years of experience in an operations support, systems support, or project coordination role.
* Hands-on experience supporting internal users in a help desk or ticketing environment.
* *Strong working knowledge of Salesforce, including administration, configuration, and basic automation.*
* *Experience using Jira for issue tracking, project coordination, or workflow management.*
* *Experience building or maintaining Zapier or similar automation flows.*
* Demonstrated ability to support internal initiatives through documentation, tracking, and coordination.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
* Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
* Customer-service mindset with the ability to support internal stakeholders diplomatically and effectively.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a support-driven, execution-focused role.
* Proactive and curious, with a willingness to learn new tools and processes.
* Experience with additional tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or NetSuite is a plus.
*Merger and Acquisition Experience*
* *Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A) from a technical perspective, including evaluating technology environments during due diligence and planning post-acquisition integration activities*
* Proven ability to *merge and rationalize two technical environments*, including identity systems, productivity platforms (such as Microsoft 365), collaboration tools, automation platforms, and line-of-business applications
* Experience designing and executing *technology integration roadmaps*, including data migration, system consolidation, access management, and workflow alignment between organizations
* Ability to assess overlapping tools, recommend consolidation strategies, and implement automation or AI solutions that support *smooth operational integration following an acquisition*
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: From $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 55 per week
