Role Overview

The Production Manager will lead all manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective production of automation systems. This role requires a strong engineering backgroundcombined with hands-on manufacturing leadership experience.


The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, lean manufacturing initiatives, quality standards, and continuous improvement while leading multidisciplinary production teams.


Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

  • Lead daily production operations to meet delivery, cost, quality, and safety targets.
  • Develop and execute production plans aligned with project schedules and customer requirements.
  • Monitor KPIs.
  • Ensure effective capacity planning and resource allocation.

Engineering & Technical Oversight

  • Translate engineering drawings and technical specifications into efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to optimise manufacturability.
  • Support new product introduction and process validation activities.
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives across the shop floor.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, team leads, and operators.
  • Build high-performance teams with strong accountability and engagement.
  • Conduct performance reviews and workforce planning.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ISO and industry-specific quality standards.
  • Partner with Quality to maintain high product reliability and performance.
  • Maintain full adherence to HSE policies and procedures.

Supply Chain & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure material availability.
  • Coordinate with Project Management to align build schedules with customer delivery timelines.
  • Support installation and commissioning teams when required.

Candidate Profile
Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing leadership within an engineering-driven environment.
  • Experience in automation systems, machinery manufacturing, or bespoke equipment assembly preferred.
  • Proven track record managing production teams in a fast-paced project-based environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical assembly, fabrication, and automated systems.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, CI tools, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a high-growth environment.
