Medforce is proud to partner with a leading Primary Care team in Galway to recruit Staff Grade and Senior Grade Psychologists for their Child Services division. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families while working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

About the Role:

You will work within a supportive Primary Care environment providing psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions to children with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities of the Psychologist:

  • Deliver high-quality psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions
  • Support children with emotional, social, and developmental difficulties
  • Collaborate closely with families, schools, and other professionals
  • Participate in team meetings, care planning, and service development
  • (Senior Role) Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff
  • (Senior Role) Lead on service improvement and quality initiatives

Requirements for the Psychologist:

Staff Grade:

  • A recognised postgraduate qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology
  • CORU registration (or eligible)
  • Experience working with children in a clinical or educational setting
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Senior Grade:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience (must include paediatric experience)
  • Experience in leading service development or quality improvement initiatives
  • Proven skills in supervision, complex case management, and MDT collaboration
