About The Role
- Lead the proactive development of integrated solutions that drive sustainable growth and profitability for Kerry's bakery business in Europe.
- Manage the technical development activities for relevant bakery customers, ensuring that all products developed are appropriate to the specific application.
- Serve as the contact point for customer needs related to products and processes optimisation, providing specialised knowledge on Kerry technologies to enhance customer offerings.
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial team to support key business initiatives, translating Kerry's technological capabilities into tangible sales growth for priority bakery accounts.
- Actively engage in the development of pro‑active NPD presentations – prototypes and supporting documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development
- Apply Kerry technologies, such as enzymes, emulsifiers, flavour and other ingredients in the above-mentioned baked goods.
- Use of bakery processing machinery like mixer & oven and other analytical instruments – moisture, pH meter, specific gravity, texture analyser, etc.
- Upscale laboratory experiments to assist in industrial production at the customer’s premises.
- Collaboration – Build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project management.
- Documentation – Develop and maintain detailed product specifications, standards, project timelines, competitive analysis and shelf‑life studies. Ensure all results are captured and recorded for future projects.
- Customer engagement – Develop strong relationships with bakery customers, understand their marketplace dynamics, and provide them with technical knowledge, experience and support when required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Baking Science & Technology, Bakery & Patisserie Technology, Food Science or a related field.
- Experience: 8–10 years in food product development, preferably within the bakery industry. Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.
- Skills
- Understanding of the new product development process, including scale‑up to market.
- Bakery application experience across a range of products – Bread, Biscuits, Muffins, Cakes, etc.
- Technical knowledge & operational experience with various bakery products.
- Strong knowledge of bakery ingredients and their application.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse departments and stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated, proactive and comfortable working in an ambiguous setting.
- Strong presentation and project‑management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Consistent performance in a fast‑paced environment with troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Desire and willingness for continuous learning.
