Responsibilities
Increase your chances of an interview by reading the following overview of this role before making an application.

  • Lead the design and coordination of high-voltage (HV) electrical systems and substations (110kV and above) for large-scale data centre and industrial projects.
  • Develop and review detailed electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, earthing, and interconnection layouts.
  • Perform system studies and calculations such as load flow, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and arc‑flash studies.
  • Prepare design documentation, technical specifications, and equipment schedules in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide design input for HV substations, including transformer selection, switchgear, busbar systems, and protection relays.
  • Coordinate with grid operators, utilities, and clients to define connection requirements and ensure full technical compliance with local grid codes.
  • Support the development of primary and secondary substation designs, including control systems and SCADA integration.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and low‑voltage design teams to ensure full MEP and structural integration.
  • Evaluate supplier and manufacturer technical submissions, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, method statements, and constructability reviews during design and pre‑construction stages.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Mentor junior electrical engineers and contribute to the development of internal design standards and best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design quality, efficiency, and innovation within the electrical engineering function.
