Group Financial Controller

My client is one of Irelands leading media groups.

Working with and reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Group Financial Controller will assist in managing all the financial operations of the company and provide financial projections and accounting support in the preparation of growth plans.

A key part of the role will be driving the budgeting and forecasting process and develop focused financial insight and analysis and will be involved in all end-to-end management reporting and control activities while also providing support to the Finance Director.

• Preparation and Review of monthly accounts and preparation of reporting packs to meet month end deadlines including consolidated accounts for the group.
• Manage financial forecasting and budgets & overseeing the preparation of year end accounts alongside the Finance Director.
• Monitor the actual performance, profitability and perform variance analysis for group companies.
• Identify areas of budget concern and initiate corrective actions and proactive measures where necessary.
• Manage Cashflow across the group including maintaining rolling cashflow projections.
• Assist with managing the year-end audit.
• Responsible for drafting the Statutory Financial Statements (both individual and consolidated) for the Group.
• Continuous review of internal controls and procedures to ensure adequate financial and non-financial checks and balances are in place to safeguard validity of the balance sheet.
• Establish and develop relations with senior leadership team and external partners and stakeholders.
• Provide strategic recommendations to the FD.
• Provide people management and leadership to 3 direct reports managing performance.

• Fully qualified Accountant( ACA/ ACCA/CIMA)
• 3-5 years PQE ideally within a multi entity or shared services environment
• Strong technical financial accounting skills and up to date with all FRS102 developments
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities for complex scenario planning
• Experience in managing and motivating staff
