PartnerRe requires a Group Reporting Manager for a contract role (maternity cover) on the Group Reporting & Accounting Policy team in Dublin. The primary responsibilities include preparation and review of US GAAP financial statements, quarterly Audit Committee reporting, accounting memos and financial package to the ultimate parent in France. This role offers coordination with teams in Bermuda and worldwide and a hybrid working environment. The candidate will report to the Head of Group Reporting & Accounting Policy.


We are seeking for our Dublin office a dynamic and hardworking individual for a contract position (maternity cover) on our Group Reporting & Accounting Policy team. This opportunity will offer the successful candidate an active role in supporting Group and shareholder reporting for a large, global reinsurance company. The role will be part of a key finance team leading the accounting and financial reporting and will offer a diverse experience across multiple reporting bases. Your responsibilities will include:



  • Preparation and/or review of US GAAP financial statements and press release, results presentations, and Audit Committee reporting for the Group
  • Preparation and/or review of the financial package sent to the Group parent under French GAAP based on instructions received from Group
  • Preparation and/or review of financial reporting controls
  • Research on accounting standards and documentation of new, significant or unusual transactions in line with the Group’s accounting policies and preparation of accounting memos and related policies
  • Ongoing research and keeping up to date with all relevant technical accounting, disclosure and reporting standards/guidance
  • Management of close calendars and significant coordination and communication with teams in other PartnerRe locations globally including investments, planning and performance management, corporate accounting, legal, actuarial, risk management, and tax
  • Participation in ad-hoc external reporting related projects or activities

Technically sound experience is required:


Technical Skills

  • Strong IT skills including skilled use of Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) are required.
  • Experience with Workiva for financial reporting and presentations would be considered an asset.

Soft Skills

  • High degree of attention to detail, with information produced being complete, accurate and of a high standard
  • Comfortable working independently and analyzing technical information and results
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with colleagues of all levels and from all cultures within a global organization
  • Ability to adapt effectively to change and willingness to take on additional work and responsibilities
  • Minimum of 5+ post‑qualification experience in (re)insurance industry and financial reporting experience obtained in the (re)insurance industry or in a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Strong up‑to‑date technical knowledge and experience with reporting for life and non‑life reinsurers, ideally under US GAAP or IFRS/Irish GAAP
  • Experience with researching and drafting accounting memos and/or policies
  • Familiarity with French GAAP is not required as all training will be provided on the job
  • Experience liaising with external auditors and other accounting and (re)insurance professionals will be an asset
