Electrical Design Engineer

Arcadis DPS Engineering are seeking a Electrical Design Engineer (Oil & Gas) for an assignment located in East Cork. This is initially a 6 or 12 month contract, with potential for extension and more. One day working from home, four days on site.

This role will involve design and life cycle of all Electrical installations and equipment in support of Capital Projects, Technical, Maintenance, Operations and HSE. The Electrical Design Engineer is to provide technical design with focus on safety, schedule, and cost management adherence, while complying with good engineering practices, company policies, and all applicable regulations and codes of practice.

• Develop electrical data sheets.
  
• Generate detailed scope of work packages for electrical and automation contractors for tender/procurement process, applying value engineering where possible.
  
• Define the electrical requirements for capital projects and interact with internal & external stakeholders, vendors, and contractors for tender negotiation, cost estimates, constructability, and safety reviews.
  
• Input into Project Management regarding the electrical discipline within projects including cost estimates, planning, and schedule reporting.
  
• Responsible for providing the electrical technical information to procurement for new and replacement equipment.
  
• Generation of single line diagrams, equipment index, cable block diagrams, and wiring drawings (AutoCAD).
  
• Knowledge of ATEX and Hazardous Area compliance within electrical designs.
  
• Assist with the coordination of the electrical installation and instrumentation (E&I) contractors during construction and commissioning activities where applicable.
  
• Ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity.
  

• 
  
• Degree qualified Electrical Engineer with design experience within refining or a similar industry.
  
• Experience in developing electrical data sheets is essential.
  
• Additional qualification or experience in Electrical Engineering, Functional Safety, ATEX, or related experience is highly desirable.
