Cloud Architect

My client is currently on the lookout for an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect who is would be responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud platforms supporting a portfolio of enterprise SaaS products and digital services.

The role sits within a global engineering function and works closely with software engineering, product, and platform teams to deliver resilient, cloud-native architectures across multi-cloud environments.

• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to design, implement, and evolve secure, scalable cloud-hosted solutions.
  
• Define and maintain cloud architecture standards, patterns, and operational best practices.
  
• Lead platform modernisation initiatives such as:
  
• cloud migrations and consolidation
  
• containerisation and orchestration
  
• CI/CD automation and infrastructure as code
  
• Provide hands-on expertise across multi-cloud environments (primarily Azure and AWS).
  
• Design and implement secure data architectures, migration strategies, and resilience patterns.
  
• Ensure platforms meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  
• Enable continuous delivery by integrating cloud platforms with development pipelines and services.
  
• Troubleshoot complex distributed system issues and define sustainable architectural solutions.
  
• Contribute to architecture governance, documentation, and technical roadmaps.
  
• Mentor engineers and promote adoption of modern cloud practices and tooling.
  

• 
  
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  
• Significant experience in cloud architecture and platform engineering roles.
  
• Strong experience designing and operating multi-cloud environments (Azure and AWS).
  
• Solid scripting/automation capability (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  
• Deep understanding of core infrastructure domains:
  
• networking and connectivity
  
• databases (relational and managed cloud services)
  
• storage and backup
  
• identity and access management
  
• cloud security controls
  
• Proven track record delivering cloud transformation or platform modernisation initiatives.
  
• Experience implementing infrastructure automation and CI/CD enablement.
  
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  
• Experience working within regulated or security-sensitive environments is beneficial. xcfaprz
