*Key Responsibilities*
*Supplement Formulator and Product Development Manager*
* Research and develop new dietary supplement formulations based on scientific evidence and market trends.
* Vendor Collaboration: Evaluate raw materials and assess new technologies to drive innovation and support supply chain decisions.
* Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitive products and technologies, providing insights to marketing and product teams.
* Select and evaluate raw materials for efficacy, stability, cost, and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Optimize formulations for bioavailability, stability, taste, and solubility.
* Ensure product consistency and effectiveness while maintaining cost efficiency and manufacturing compatibility.
*Quality Control & Testing*
* Conduct laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process formulations, and finished products.
* Develop and validate analytical methods for ingredient identification, potency, and purity.
* Perform stability studies and recommend formulation adjustments if necessary.
* Maintain documentation of testing procedures and results in compliance with industry regulations.
* Create SOPs related to ingredients, finished products, formulations, testing, etc.
*Regulatory Compliance & Documentation*
* Ensure product formulations comply with FDA, cGMP, NSF, USP, and other relevant regulatory standards.
* Prepare technical documents, including Product Specifications, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and formulation dossiers.
* Assist in writing product labels and marketing claims with scientifically supported data.
* Work closely with regulatory teams to meet international and domestic supplement regulations.
*Manufacturing & Process Optimization*
* Support scale-up activities from lab prototypes to full-scale production.
* Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot formulation or processing challenges.
* Monitor and enhance manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality improvement.
*Research & Innovation*
* Stay up-to-date with scientific advancements, ingredient trends, and emerging technologies in nutraceuticals.
* Evaluate new delivery systems such as liposomal, encapsulated, or sustained-release formulations.
* Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and professional networks to gain insights into the latest supplement innovations.
*Required Qualifications & Skills*
*Education & Experience*
* *Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD* in *Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field*.
* *2-5 years* of experience in supplement or pharmaceutical product formulation, quality control, and research.
*Technical Skills*
* Strong knowledge of *nutraceutical ingredients, vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and functional compounds* with direct experience in ingredient and life sciences research, product development, and formulation chemistry.
* Experience with *HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, and other analytical techniques*.
* Experience with *cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory guidelines* for dietary supplements.
* Proficiency in *formulation software, and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).*
* Manage *product labeling*, including *Supplement and Nutrition Facts*, with expertise in *FDA labeling regulations and compliance.*
* *Client Collaboration*: Address client queries on product formulations, ingredients and blending, driving new product development, quality matters and improvements to existing products.
*Soft Skills*
* Strong *problem-solving and analytical skills*.
* Ability to work *independently and in cross-functional teams*.
* Excellent *attention to detail with strong organizational skills*.
* Strong *written and verbal communication* for documentation and reporting.

*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience in *clinical research* related to nutraceuticals.
* Knowledge of *GRAS ingredients and FDA’s NDI process*.
* Understanding of *sustainable and clean-label supplement trends*.
