Are you a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator looking for a challenging opportunity in Richmond, Virginia? Our fast-paced warehouse is seeking experienced individuals to operate forklifts and manage the movement of goods. In this vital role, you will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials within the warehouse, and ensuring the efficient flow of inventory. We prioritize the safety of our employees and demand strict adherence to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Your expertise will be critical to maintaining our logistics operations and contributing to our overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and stage products according to storage plans.
- Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and verification.
- Follow all company safety regulations and procedures, including the use of PPE and proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring clear aisles and access points.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Ability to operate forklifts in confined spaces and with precision.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and some lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of logistics and material handling principles.
- Commitment to safety protocols and awareness of potential hazards in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and good communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
