Our distribution center in Richmond, Virginia is looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our logistics team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will also assist with various warehouse duties to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to safety, and experience with different types of forklifts. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Load and unload products from trailers and transport them to designated areas
- Verify counts and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or discrepancies
- Move and store materials within the warehouse, ensuring proper placement and organization
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, such as cycle counts and stock rotation
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency in our logistics hub.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid forklift operator certification
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck)
- Demonstrated understanding of warehouse operations and logistics
- Ability to perform Lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
