We are seeking a reliable Material Handler to join our operations in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout our warehouse and production facilities. This role involves receiving, inspecting, and transporting raw materials, components, and finished goods. You will utilize various equipment, including pallet jacks and potentially forklifts (if certified), to manage inventory flow. Maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols, and ensuring the accuracy of material placement are key responsibilities. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and components.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the facility using pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Stock materials in appropriate warehouse locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate material records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including safe lifting techniques and the proper use of PPE.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Report any damaged materials or safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
