Are you an experienced Forklift Operator seeking a challenging opportunity in New York City, New York? We are hiring a skilled professional to manage the movement of goods within our busy warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of powered industrial trucks to load, unload, transport, and store materials. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of inventory and timely processing of shipments. You must have a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, be adept at operating various forklift types, and possess the physical ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and warehouse storage areas.
- Transport goods to designated locations within the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange inventory accurately and efficiently.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations, OSHA standards, and proper PPE usage.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members and supervisors to achieve operational targets.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a certified Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification required.
- Proficiency in operating sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse logistics and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
