We are actively recruiting experienced Forklift Operators for our busy distribution center in Houston, Texas. This pivotal role ensures the smooth flow of goods within our facility, from receiving to shipping. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely moving, loading, and unloading materials, as well as stacking and retrieving products from various heights. Your expertise is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy and operational efficiency in our logistics hub. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and securely.
- Stack and retrieve products from designated storage areas, including racking systems.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory locations using the WMS.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and company policies, including mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with general warehouse duties such as order picking and packing when necessary.
- Ensure all loads are stable and properly secured before transport.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Practice safe lifting techniques and proper material handling protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Valid forklift certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proficiency in operating sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 60 lbs occasionally.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced logistics setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Must possess a strong safety record.
