We are looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy distribution center in San Diego, California. This role is vital for the movement of goods within our logistics facility. You will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification and a proven track record of safe operation. Attention to detail, strong spatial awareness, and a commitment to safety protocols are essential. You will work collaboratively with warehouse associates to ensure timely order fulfillment and inventory accuracy. This position offers a great opportunity to advance your career in the logistics sector. Daily tasks include inspecting equipment, performing routine checks, and maintaining operational logs. We emphasize a culture of safety and continuous improvement. All necessary PPE will be provided, and training on advanced lifting and material handling techniques will be offered. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials and products from trucks and storage areas.
- Move, stack, and consolidate inventory as directed.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and daily maintenance checks on equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Follow proper lifting and material handling procedures.
- Support overall logistics and warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of logistics and inventory control principles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
