We are seeking a reliable Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all deliveries are accurately documented, inspected, and properly stored. Your attention to detail is critical in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and the efficiency of our warehouse operations. This position requires someone organized, efficient, and committed to upholding our high standards of safety and accuracy. You will work closely with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth receiving process. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the warehousing and logistics sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage or defects, documenting any issues.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label inventory appropriately for storage or further processing.
- Stage incoming materials for transport to appropriate warehouse locations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Support the overall logistics flow by ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming goods.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally. Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail are essential. Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to workplace safety is mandatory.
