*Job Summary*
The Certified Medication Aide plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within healthcare settings. This position is responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient health, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of physiology and experience in various care environments, including hospice and home community care.
*Responsibilities*
* Administer medications to patients as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
* Monitor and document patient responses to medications and report any adverse reactions to the nursing staff.
* Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for patients with developmental disabilities.
* Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
* Provide compassionate support to patients and their families, fostering a positive environment.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals in medical offices and hospitals to ensure coordinated care.
* Utilize electronic health record systems such as Cerner for accurate documentation of medication administration and patient care activities.
*Qualifications*
* Certification as a Medication Aide or equivalent qualification is required.
* Experience in hospice care, home community care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of physiology and patient care principles.
* Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safety practices.
* Proficient in using electronic health record systems; experience with Cerner is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
* Commitment to providing high-quality patient care while maintaining professionalism at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
