Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to support advanced cybersecurity operations in a dynamic, mission-focused environment. This role requires a technically strong professional with experience in system administration, network engineering, and/or network security who can perform deep-dive analysis of complex data sets to identify threats, anomalies, and operational risks.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a collaborative but non-SOP-driven environment and can apply analytical rigor, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills to evolving mission needs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct advanced cybersecurity analysis using raw log data to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalous behavior (Tier III-level analysis). Perform correlation and investigation across multiple data sources to support incident response and proactive threat detection. Utilize data aggregation and analytics platforms (e.g., Splunk, Kibana) to develop dashboards, queries, and actionable insights. Support system administration, network engineering, and network security activities as needed to enhance defensive posture. Develop and leverage Python scripts to automate analysis, improve workflows, and enhance data processing capabilities. Apply emerging AI capabilities and analytics techniques to improve detection, triage, and investigative efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to assess risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Contribute to the continuous improvement of security monitoring processes and analytical methodologies. Required Skills
Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph. Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience; OR 10+ years of relevant technical experience in lieu of degree. Strong background in system administration, network engineering, and/or network security. Experience conducting analysis on raw log data in a Tier III or equivalent advanced support capacity. Hands-on experience with data aggregation and analytics tools such as Splunk, Kibana, or similar platforms. Experience developing scripts or tools using Python. Basic knowledge of artificial intelligence capabilities and their applications in data analytics or cybersecurity. Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented environment that is flexible and not strictly SOP-driven. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Desired Skills
Experience supporting government or Intelligence Community environments. Familiarity with threat hunting methodologies and advanced detection techniques. Experience integrating AI-driven analytics into security monitoring workflows. Industry certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent.
