Seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. This position is vital for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming goods into our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and properly documenting all received items. Accurate inventory management starts here, and your attention to detail is crucial. You will work closely with our inventory control and logistics departments to ensure a seamless flow of goods. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The job involves physical tasks including occasional Lifting and requires a good understanding of warehouse operations. We are looking for a reliable and organized individual who can contribute to maintaining the integrity of our supply chain. Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and unload incoming shipments from carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect incoming products for any damage or discrepancies.
- Record received inventory in the warehouse management system.
- Tag and prepare items for storage or distribution.
- Communicate any issues with received goods to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and PPE guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a similar warehouse role is beneficial.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, up to 40 pounds.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory software.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
