We are looking for a proficient Forklift Operator to join our warehouse operations in Detroit, Michigan. This role is crucial for the efficient movement of materials within our logistics hub. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and effectively to load, unload, and transport goods. You will perform daily equipment checks to ensure operational readiness and report any maintenance needs. Accuracy in handling and tracking inventory is essential. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all warehouse protocols are paramount for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (counterbalance, reach trucks, etc.) in a safe and controlled manner.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with efficiency and care.
- Transport materials to and from various points within the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-operation safety inspections on all equipment used.
- Maintain accurate logs of inventory movements and locations.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed to support overall logistics operations.
- Perform manual lifting tasks as required, up to 50 lbs.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in safety and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of certified forklift operation experience. Proven ability to safely operate various types of forklifts. Good understanding of warehouse safety standards and logistics procedures. Capable of performing frequent lifting and material handling. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Must be reliable and able to work in a demanding warehouse environment.
