We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to the efficient operation of our logistics and distribution center, ensuring that goods are handled safely and effectively. You will be performing daily pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure safe use. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks, as well as accurately documenting inventory movements. Adherence to all safety regulations and company policies is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload materials from trailers and containers.
- Move materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Participate in inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, including manual lifting when necessary.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or safety hazards.
- Understand and follow all logistics procedures for material handling.
- Operate equipment in a manner that ensures the safety of self and others.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a certified forklift operator. Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures. Ability to perform tasks requiring regular lifting of up to 50 pounds. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. A commitment to workplace safety is essential.
