We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in New York City, New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy machinery in a safe and efficient manner to move, locate, replenish, and stage products. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of goods within our distribution center, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, handling a variety of materials and ensuring proper inventory management. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move pallets, loads, and materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring correct placement and securing of goods.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Identify and relocate stock as needed, assisting with inventory counts and audits.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with order picking, packing, and shipping processes as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Safely handle and transport materials, adhering to weight limits and proper lifting techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks, including sustained lifting and reaching.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
