We are hiring a reliable Material Handler for our Portland, Oregon warehouse. In this role, you will be instrumental in the smooth flow of goods through our facility. Your responsibilities will include operating material handling equipment, moving inventory, loading and unloading shipments, and ensuring that materials are stored safely and efficiently. A strong emphasis is placed on safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintaining a hazard-free work environment. If you possess experience with material handling equipment, are physically capable, and thrive in a team-oriented logistics setting, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and skillfully.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Stack and organize inventory according to established procedures.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse work area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or damaged goods.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks as required.
- Participate in inventory audits and cycle counts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
- Valid forklift operator certification is preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks involving frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting (up to 60 lbs) on a regular basis.
- Understanding of logistics operations and warehouse safety standards is required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
