We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator for our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania facility. This role is crucial for the efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse and distribution center. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and assist with order fulfillment. The ideal candidate has proven experience operating various types of forklifts, a strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations, and a commitment to maintaining operational efficiency. Your expertise will directly contribute to the smooth functioning of our logistics operations and ensure the timely movement of goods. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and a dedication to safe practices.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport materials from receiving areas to storage locations and vice versa.
- Move inventory to designated staging areas for order picking or shipment.
- Stack and arrange materials in a safe and organized manner.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any maintenance needs or issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including proper lifting techniques and site-specific protocols.
- Wear required PPE, such as hard hats, safety vests, and steel-toed boots.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and other warehouse duties as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics team.
Qualifications:
Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated experience. Proven ability to operate forklifts safely in a busy warehouse environment. Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices. Ability to perform lifting tasks up to 50 lbs. Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus. Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic. Commitment to wearing and maintaining PPE.
