Join our dynamic team in Austin, Texas, as an Inventory Control Specialist. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of all inventory-related activities within our warehouse. Your primary focus will be on ensuring inventory accuracy, optimizing stock levels, and implementing efficient inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and maximize product availability. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of inventory management principles, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the logistics framework. You will work closely with the warehouse management team to drive continuous improvement in inventory processes and uphold the highest standards of Safety and operational excellence. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and optimize stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and effectively.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to ensure product freshness and minimize obsolescence.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away processes to ensure accurate item tracking and storage.
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to manage inventory flow.
- Implement and enforce Safety protocols related to inventory handling and storage.
- Ensure all team members adhere to proper handling procedures and use of PPE.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to inventory management systems and processes to enhance logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles, WMS, and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent understanding of Safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Experience with physical inventory counts and cycle counting methodologies.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data to drive improvements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
