We are seeking a dedicated Picker/Packer to join our distribution center team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items for customer orders and preparing them for shipment. Your efficiency and accuracy are key to our customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our logistics process. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment, utilizing technology to fulfill orders, and maintaining high standards of quality. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order specifications using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Pack selected items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers, using correct packing materials.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare packages for dispatch.
- Ensure all orders are processed accurately and within established timeframes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all warehouse safety regulations.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, as needed.
- Conduct quality checks on packed orders to ensure they meet company standards.
- Report any inventory discrepancies, damages, or equipment malfunctions to a supervisor.
- Consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in order picking, packing, or a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Capacity to lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Familiarity with RF scanning technology is a plus.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Adherence to all safety guidelines and proper use of PPE.
