Our Houston, Texas facility is looking for a reliable Shipping Clerk to join our dedicated logistics team. This position is vital for ensuring that all outbound shipments are processed accurately and dispatched efficiently. Your primary duties will involve preparing orders for shipment, generating shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining detailed shipping records. A strong focus on Safety and the correct handling of goods is essential; you will be provided with the necessary training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role offers a great opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic logistics environment. The job requires attention to detail and the capacity for physical tasks, including moderate Lifting. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with freight carriers.
- Ensure packages are correctly labeled and routed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping records.
- Conduct inventory checks in the shipping area as needed.
- Keep the shipping department clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company Safety policies and wear required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a shipping, logistics, or administrative role is beneficial.
- Ability to perform Lifting tasks up to 30 lbs.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with shipping software.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and efficient operations.
