The Engineer will report to the Section Head (Electrical) and will be required to carry out all necessary design functions for Building Services Electrical systems including, but not limited to, cable sizing, lighting layouts and calculations using both manual methods and industry standard calculation software. These functions will be carried out under the Engineer’s self guidance with recourse to the Section Head, or other Senior Engineers for checking and problem resolution. The level of supervision required from the Section Head will be dictated by the individual’s capability and experience.
Projects include, MOD, general industrial, pharmaceutical & research clients and will encompass many specialist utilities.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for producing concept, preliminary and detailed designs according to the project requirements. You will also develop detailed calculations and functional layouts to meet the criteria outlined.
A major activity early in the design, is the accumulation of specific information from the client in order to produce and expand the user requirements and further define the scope of work. The data accumulated is coordinated with the other disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical, controls and public health) to ensure that everyone has the current data, all items are covered and restrictions and interferences are accounted for.
