We are a small, locally owned paper converting company in Streetsboro, Ohio, seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our tight-knit team. As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in running machinery to convert paper products, ensuring high-quality output and smooth operation of our production line with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency. This position offers a steady, 8-hour shift, with limited overtime.
*Key Responsibilities *
* Operate Machinery: Set up, adjust, and operate machines used for paper converting processes.
* Quality Control: Monitor the quality of output to ensure all products meet company standards and adjust machine settings as necessary.
* Maintenance: Perform basic routine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machines, to prevent malfunctions.
* Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve minor issues with machinery to reduce downtime and ensure continuous production.
* Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines strictly to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and other team members.
* Documentation: Accurately complete order documentation and provide status updates, including details on product quantities.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety regulations.
*Experience*
* Prior experience as a machine operator, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience in paper converting is a plus.
* Comfortable with operating and troubleshooting machinery, with the ability to learn quickly.
* Keen eye for quality and safety standards to ensure a high-quality output and safe operation.
* Punctual and reliable, with a strong commitment to maintaining a consistent work schedule.
* Comfortable working independently, taking initiative to manage tasks.
* Able to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
* Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently, forklift certification is a plus, but training can be provided.
* Demonstrates high ethical standards and a strong sense of responsibility.
* Values teamwork and works effectively as part of a team to achieve shared company goals.
* Basic math skills are essential for measurements and calculations.
* Overtime: Limited, but may occasionally be required based on production needs.
* Experience working in a warehouse setting is beneficial.
